About

Dave Morford

I am a software developer devoted to creating great software for Mac OS X and iOS. I strive to develop simple, useful and beautiful software that brings great concepts to reality. I bring over 16 years experience delivering commercial software to any project or team I work with and a deep knowledge of Apple technologies and practices.

I do contract software development on Mac OS X applications and frameworks and worked nearly every Cocoa, Cocoa touch and Core Foundation framework in Mac OS X and iOS. Maintaining curiosity about new technologies is important and I been looking at SproutCore and Cappuccino/Objective-J recently. I have been known to do web app development work in Ruby on Rails on a very infrequent basis. I recently did the initial application design and architecture and for a popular UX book recommendation website. I frequently setup and maintain subversion, git and Redmine on Mac OS X-based servers with as part the software development for teams and projects I work on. I also designed, developed and maintained a popular set of OmniGraffle stencils for iOS visual design and wire framing.

I own and maintain open source projects for iOS on Github that follow a long standing interest in using design patterns techniques learned from experience to increase the maintainability and reliability of applications over time and they are used by several apps currently in the AppStore.
